Total renovation and extension of a Grade II listed property

This project is renovating a Grade II listed terraced residence, situated in the Kensington Conservation Area. Our client is modernising the accommodation for personal use, while preserving its original character. This four-bed house is appx 2053 ft² and is arranged over four floors, including basement level.

The works consist of an extension to the rear closet wing at first-floor level, internal alterations and refurbishment of all areas. We are tanking the vault, installing complete new mechanical and electrical services, and redecorating throughout, with wallpaper selected in keeping with the early 19th century period style. We are fitting out all areas, including the kitchen and bathrooms.

Key original features will be retained and restored, including fireplaces, skirting, cornices, picture rails and floorboards. New features have been designed to match existing, including reclaimed bricks for the rear extension, and yorkstone paving, complete with weather struck pointing.

To achieve the traditional period style, we are providing bespoke joinery in solid timber, with French polish finishes to areas including the stair handrail. This sympathetic renovation project will ensure this family home meets the needs of generations to come.
